Shell Island is an undeveloped barrier island off Florida’s Emerald Coast. It runs around 7 miles from east to west. It is made up of graceful sand dunes, pine hammocks, and shrub forest. An inland lake provides a home to shorebirds and deer. The protected shore means that a variety of crabs, coastal wildlife, and endangered species all make their homes on Shell Island.

After spending about an hour on Shell Island, we will take a leisurely sailing trip out to the Gulf of Mexico in search of wild dolphins. Please see the dolphin disclaimer below. While we hope that the right conditions will prevail, it is very rare to not see dolphins. However, the itinerary is determined by the weather conditions and your safety. Enjoy a lively party on Panama City Beach's dock with music, dancing and games.

Snorkeling is good around the St. Andrews State Park jetty, and excellent out on Shell Island. Habitats range from sand bottom, to shallow grass flats, to the rocky faces of the jetties. Expect to see tropical fish, crabs, rays, and if you are lucky, a sea turtle or some of the resident bottle nose dolphins. If you don’t have your own gear, snorkel equipment is available for rent at the Jetty Store, or get it as part of a complete package along with Shuttle tickets on a Shell Island Snorkel Tour.
